The Christian Brothers Centre is a Retreat space for youth groups, young adults and adult groups to have an opportunity and an experience of living in harmony with nature, to experience a sense of “mystery” and “wonder” and to deepen their understanding of God so as to live a more harmonious life personally and become involved in social justice issues and care of the earth.

Edmund Rice began the first Christian Brothers College in Ireland and soon after established the Congregation of Christian Brothers’ which continued his mission. The Christian Brothers believe that the greatest national resource is the minds and hearts of our children. Today, after 200 years, The Brothers have successfully provided education through almost 250 Christian Brothers' Schools globally.

We run the Retreat Centre in the spirit of our founder Blessed Edmund Rice.

Our Centre, nestled at the base of the Stellenbosch mountain, offers a world away from the hectic pace of city life and is set up as a retreat centre catering to all groups - usually faith-based, but to NGO’s as well.

We offer a variety of function rooms and versatile break-out areas for reflective gatherings set in tranquil surroundings. Each conference room is well equipped and comes with very user-friendly and easy to operate audio visual equipment.

CBC can facilitate single day events, mid-week or weekend overnight retreats with on-site accommodation.

Groups can self cater or arrange for us to provide this service from our fully equipped kitchens.
